To Be a Blessing

There is one more thing that I forgot to share from my weekend at orchestra camp, and that is something that one of the conductors said that really caught my attention and a lesson that I came home from camp with:

You don’t have to be perfect to be a blessing. ~ L. S.

This thought has been an encouragement to me and is something that I think will influence me for the rest of my life. It is probably not a new thought to most of us, but maybe something about the way he said it or the context it was said in made me think about it in a new way. This certainly does not mean that we should not do our best or even try to be perfect, but rather it is an encouragement that just because we are not perfect does not mean that we cannot be a blessing.
Whether it is playing an instrument, cooking a meal for your family, sharing Christ with someone, ministering to someone’s physical needs, playing with a younger sibling, or writing a story, as long as we are doing what the Lord wants us to and are filled with His spirit, we WILL be a blessing!
