Increase My Faith! - Abortion Mill Update

The incredibly stark contrast between those who love life and those who love death really stood out to me this weekend. Yesterday morning one of the pro-lifers came out to tell everyone on the sidewalks that his fourteenth grandchild had just been born that morning. He looked as excited as if it had been his own child! This past Saturday, three babies were born in our church – including a set of twins. Another baby in our church is due to be induced this weekend after his mother has been in and out of the hospital, endured surgeries, and been pretty well confined – all for her baby! And after I came home yesterday I read that a niece of a blogging friend had been born on Sunday – her brother’s third little girl in just over two years! What a difference there is in those who love the precious gift of new life, and those who destroy it.
Yesterday was a somewhat typical day as far as ministry out at the abortion mill. Although, I can’t really say typical, because every day has its own challenges and joys! My reflection as I look back on yesterday morning is, “Lord, increase my faith!”
I was standing by the driveway entrance to the clinic offering pro-life material to each vehicle that entered. As I stood there, I felt like I had faith that vehicles would stop, but then something happened. Someone did stop! I handed her a packet and she continued in. It was only later that I realized that I didn’t have as much faith as I thought I had. If I did, I would have said something to her, as well. Looking back, I can think of dozens of things I could have and should have said, and will say next time. That was certainly a learning experience for me, and an opportunity to ask God for more wisdom and faith. All I can do now is pray that even the booklet that I gave her will open the doors of her heart.
By way of testimony, I realized yesterday that God has taken away my apprehension toward the bouncers and pro-abortion people out at the mill! Yesterday after the bouncer came up in my face spewing threats and profanity, I was asked if I had been afraid when he did that. I replied that I hadn’t even thought about being afraid! “The Lord is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” ~ Psalm 118:6. What a precious reminder!
And I have kept the best for last – one mother chose life yesterday! She only spoke Spanish, but the Lord still used willing vessels to speak to her through that language barrier. Thank you, Jesus!

Amazing! Thank you for speaking out!
Thinking about what you said....I just finished a book that my mother bought at our local Right to Life banquet. Have you ever read it ? 'Unplanned' by Abby Johnson. It would be a great read for you!
blessings,

Thank you for your comment, Cassie! I enjoy hearing from those who are reading my blog. :)

Yes, I have read Abby Johnson's "unPlanned". That is an *amazing* story that has really affected me!

If you have never been out to an abortion clinic I strongly encourage you to consider it! I don't know where you live, but an internet search would quickly show you the nearest clinics if you don't know. www.Sidewalks4Life.com has a lot of great information and resources for those interested in getting started in sidewalk ministry at abortion mills.

God bless!

Oh, I have so been there...stopping a car and then my mind goes blank and all I can say is, "Don't kill your baby." I've discovered it's a good idea to send a quick prayer to God, asking for wisdom and what to say. Of course, you should be praying constantly while you're there, but it's really helped me to pray specifically for the words to say. Great post, Anna!

Yes, Kaitlyn, I know that you know exactly what this is like!! Wisdom from God - that's really what we need. Especially when I'm trying to double-duty on taking videos and passing out Tiny Hands :). May the Lord send more laborers! Thank you for your sweet words, Kaitlyn!
